ST. LANDRY PARISH, LOUISIANA — Pelican State Credit Union is excited to share that Nicole Sparks, a teacher at Northeast Elementary in Opelousas, Louisiana, was awarded $350 for winning the credit union’s Teacher Bulletin Board Contest.

Pelican’s Teacher Bulletin Board Contest encouraged teachers to submit a photo of their bulletin board, classroom door, or virtual learning background for a chance to win cash for school supplies for their classrooms! Winners were determined based on how many reactions, or votes, each submission received on Pelican’s official Facebook page.

A total of 12 teachers across the state of Louisiana received $250 in cash prizes, which showcased the credit union’s appreciation for the teachers in the communities it serves. Nicole also received an additional $100 for being one of the top three highest vote-getters in the contest.

“The Teacher Bulletin Board Contest is a true representation of Pelican’s commitment to supporting the educators in its communities. Teachers provide the young minds of tomorrow the guidance they need to be the best versions of themselves possible. We’re honored to be able to give back each year to educators across Louisiana,” explained Pelican CEO Jeffrey K. Conrad.

Entries are accepted each fall via Pelican’s website at pelicanstatecu.com. For more details about next year’s contest, follow Pelican’s Facebook page at facebook.com/pelicanstatecreditunion.
